Job Description
This position has the overall accountability to provide independent task planning, execution, analysis, and reporting for specific discipline under general direction. Individual will research and solve technical problems in accordance with accepted practice/methodology and report on results.
You will report to and be guided by one or more Project Managers for project sites located in MT and WY. Working with their respective teams, you are responsible for delivering the agreed, defined project deliverables on time, within budget, and of the quality that is in accordance with the AECOM and client business, technical and HSE requirements, and regulatory compliance. This position will be based in the AECOM Billings, MT office.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides basic technical expertise in the field of impacted site assessment and remediation.
Primary focus will be on executing all field and reporting aspects of standard Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, under supervision and direction by the Project Manager.
Will be expected to undertake most aspects of reporting, including data interpretation and internal recommendations within established guidelines. This position will be expected to have a basic understanding of the regulatory framework for the industry and their particular business unit.
Will coordinate work and seek input as appropriate from the Project Manager and Senior Technical Resources to make certain that the work performed is consistent with the project expectations.
Will also participate in aspects of proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and seeking quotes from subcontractors/suppliers. All work must be reviewed by more experienced staff.
May supervise various tasks delegated to subcontractors.
Will be a self starter, anticipating and initiating field and reporting activities without prompting from the Project Manager.
Operation of remedial systems under the specific duty and responsibility section
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 100% of TIME
At a minimum, responsible for projects that include the following elements:
Report writing;
Monitor well installation;
Groundwater sampling;
Soil sampling;
Monitored natural attenuation (MNA);
Operation and Maintenance of a groundwater pump and treat system;
Operation and Maintenance of a soil vapor extraction and air sparge system; and
Oversight of subcontractors associated with excavation of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil.
POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL SCOPE OF POSITION
Work environment: Office 50%, Field 50%. Will vary based on workflow and type.
Physical demands: Will need to pass an annual physical to demonstrate fitness to perform field work.
Ability to obtain security clearance for an active refinery.
Ability to pass health and safety accreditation for active refinery and bulk fuel terminal sites.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Education/Experience
BS 1-5 years of related experience; or
MS + 0-1 years.
